  • Busy busy busy!

    Hello everypawdy!

Well after the dreadful lockdown and nearly two years of nopawdy allowed to come and stay  . . . it is now super busy.  This isn't surprising of course, as now we have our freedom back getting away from it all has, at last, become possible.  And very much needed.  Here at the Hotel it is great to see my lovely regulars again as well as meeting lots of new pupsters.

The upshot of all this is that we are now virtually full for the rest of this year - get us! - with just a few odd days left I'm afraid.  Sadly I can't take on any new clients this year now, so meet and greets are just for new Pups who would like to book in for next year.  We do have some spaces in December but Christmas is already booked up I'm afraid.

I am also taking a break myself in November so we will be closed from 14th November 22 to 5th December 22.  Time for just my own dogs and me.

I am taking bookings already for next year so be warned - you need to think ahead as I hate disappointing my regulars.  If you want to get hold of me text is still the best option as I'm always in the middle of something - I will get back to you I promise!  (But if I do forget  . . . as if  . . . send it again if you haven't heard from me in 48 hours)  Please bear in mind that I do have "office hours" when I get the chance to sit with my laptop and deal with bookings etc so although you can text whenever you like you won't necessarily get a reply straight away - especially not if it's Saturday evening or Sunday!

Love and best wishes to you all x

Michelle  . . . Boris, Spud, Waffles, Roxy, Misty, Noodles and Madam Sin of course!

  • Spring in here . . .

At last the flowers are appearing now and brightening things up a bit, and the sun is shining - at least occasionally!  We have been busy here at the Hotel and are looking forward to more time in the garden . . . and less mud!  Boris has started a five a side football team, although he does tend to hog the football.  Roxy has her own ball and isn't sharing that with anyone.  So there.  Spud couldn't care less about a ball and Noodles doesn't approve, but then there is a lot Noodles doesn't really approve of including rain, wind, or any weather if it's too cold.  It's a Crestie thing I think.

We have had some really lovely doggies to stay already this year including many of our regulars.  It's great to see our old friends again and welcome them back as they know the place and settle in so quickly to our routine.  These discerning guests know what they like and what they can expect from us too.  We have also enjoyed the company of some new doggies and it is always interesting to meet new breeds as everyone is different of course.

We have been creative in the Hotel kitchen and some of our guests have been enjoying tempting treats - even our most picky eaters- to supplement their own food. On the menu are our house specialties with delights such as roast chicken wing and sweet potato soup (all bones removed of course), ox liver jus with peas, pheasant and mixed veg casserole, and, for afternoon tea we sometimes serve our delicious sardine cakey.  For those of a delicate constitution we can also provide more subtle dishes such as poached white fish or chicken with rice if they require it.

Walkies around Hucking Woodland Trust is as beautiful as ever, if rather a muddy assault course at the moment.  We all really enjoyed the snow when that happened and had some great fun in that.  Bramble the Doberman, one of our regulars, was with us and it was her first time in snow as she is still a young lady and hadn't had the opportunity to see it before.  My jacks love rolling in it and making snow angels and getting covered in snow bobbles.  Noodles wasn't that impressed.  Roxy thought it was ok until she nearly lost her ballie in it when it got buried in a drift.

Well that's about all our news for now, lots of love Spud, Boris, Roxy, Noodles and M x

  • Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from all of us at the Hotel.  We had a lovely Christmas and New Year with lots of guests to keep us company.  Poppet came for a nice long stay whilst she had packed her Hoomans off to Canada.  We also were joined by Charlie, Katie and Misty for Christmas and Harvey and Henry came for the New Year celebrations.  Lots of treats over the festivities were enjoyed by all the pupsters and the Hotel kitchen went out of it's way to make lovely gravies for doggy dinners with delights such as Ox Heart and Pea jus and Pheasant Carcass and Carrot consomme thanks to a kind contribution from our Pointy friends - Tilly, Grace and Mouse.

The "Dog Room" underwent decoration in November whilst the Hptel was closed so we now have a beautiful new floor - wood look and washable but with good grip for paws - and a great new colour scheme.  The Dog Room is the dog's private room (No Hoomans allowed other than staff for cleaning pruposes!) and has a double bed with a thick duvet, snuggly vetbeds, an en suite shower and its own washing machine especially for doggy belongings.  The Dog Room provides a warm and comfortable relaxation area for guests to dry out in after long muddy walkies and also night time accomodation for some of our canine guests who prefer the privacy of their own room rather than the bustle and excitement of pack life.  (There will be photos to follow in the Gallery of the Dog Room's make over).

2017 has begun with a great start for us here at the Hotel, as we have already got guests with us for most of January and February, and I hope I won't disappoint too many pupsters, but we are already full booked for August!  Please remember, however, that it is always worth making an enquiry just in case we do have any cancellations!  So if you are thinking of booking - particulary during Hoopups school holidays - please make sure you let us know as soon as possible as places are limited here and don't forget that a deposit will be needed for holidays of 7 or more days to secure your booking.

We wish you all the very best for a happy and healthy 2017 x x love and licks
